Who we are and why LOOKLOCK was born

LOOKLOCK was never designed to replace your everyday messaging app. It was created to complement it.

Keep using your usual messaging app for everyday conversations. But when you want to share business strategies, financial information, medical records, family photos, private videos, or any other content you consider especially sensitive, and you feel you need a greater sense of peace of mind, LOOKLOCK is there for you.

Our vision is simple: to give people back control over their own communications. Instead of relying exclusively on centralized platforms, every user can deploy their own node easily and affordably, if he wishes, retaining ownership of their communications infrastructure and deciding how and with whom they communicate.

LOOKLOCK is, above all, a Club of Friends. We believe that the friends of our friends are our friends. Trust is the foundation of every meaningful relationship, and each member decides who becomes part of their network. If you would not trust someone with your secrets, you probably should not invite them into your circle of trust.

Can a network built on trust connect the entire world? We believe it can. The theory of the Six Degrees of Separation suggests that any two people are connected through only a handful of relationships.
