Your messenger encrypts end to end, but do you hold the keys? If someone else keeps them, the lock is not yours. In LOOKLOCK your own phone creates the private key and it never leaves it: not even we can read you.
Don't change your habits
Keep using your current app for small talk, but do you really want a stranger to be able to see your children's photos, your conversations with your partner, your medical or banking reports?
End-to-end encryption
Your messages are encrypted with the recipient's public key (ECIES: ECDH P-256 + AES-GCM, with the key derived via HKDF and the ephemeral key bound as AAD). No one else can read them.
No central post office
Straight to the node, no intermediate stations. No copies, no detours. Anti-impersonation (MITM).
Without transmitting your identity
Your identity is a code. No name, no phone. The server only handles encrypted blobs: never their content.
Metadata you can trust
We verify the legitimacy of access to the system, but we have no contact, involvement or knowledge of the communications themselves.
Purge and ephemeral messages
Messages are purged according to your retention policy; being end-to-end encrypted blobs, what's purged is unreadable.
Your conversations on your node
Your chats live only on mailbox nodes you fully trust or, if you prefer, that you build yourself and that only you and whoever you choose know about.
